Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking an Order Expeditor for the Purchasing department. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing, delivery, and fulfillment of all orders by coordinating with vendors, internal departments, and logistics teams. This role involves tracking orders, managing logistics, and resolving any issues that may cause delays to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor the status of all orders from placement through delivery.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and shipping companies to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Liaise with internal departments, such as project managers and engineers, to ensure all parties are informed and aligned.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and delays that impact delivery schedules.
  • Process and verify order accuracy upon arrival and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders and transactions.
  • Communicate order status updates and potential issues to management and sales teams.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to order fulfillment and vendor management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an expeditor, or in a similar logistics, procurement, or administrative role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with data entry and record-keeping is preferred
  • Experience with the AS400 is preferred
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
