Job Summary

The Line Lead oversees work order production lines to support smooth operations, quality, efficiency, safety, and communication between project management and line employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Line Leadership & Production Execution

·         Coordinate daily production activities by reviewing work orders, work instructions, and production requirements.

·         Assign work, direct line personnel, and ensure adequate staffing to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

·         Lead production operations, communicate product requirements, and address operational issues to maintain workflow and productivity.

·         Oversee and motivate employees to meet quality, safety, and production objectives.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify product quality, uniformity, labeling, and compliance with work instructions.
  • Coordinate product reviews, inspections, and testing activities as required.
  • Identify defects, investigate issues, and communicate quality concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Make & Pack SOPs, work instructions, and customer requirements.

Documentation & Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate production records, including material usage, inventory balances, production output, defect tracking, and final quantity reconciliation.
  • Document work assignments and production activities within required production records.
  • Submit completed documentation for quality review and final approval.

Safety & Work Area Readiness

  • Prepare production areas according to sanitation, setup, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE requirements, safety procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Communicate safety concerns, personnel issues, and operational risks to the Factory Supervisor.

 

Qualifications

Education

(HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)

High school diploma or equivalent

Business Experience

(prior-year’s work/related experience)

2-3 years related experience

Licenses/Certifications

Valid U.S. driver’s license. Previous forklift training a plus

Language Skills

Ability to read and write English

·         Ability to calculate simple addition and subtraction

·         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standards exist. 

·         Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

·         Ability to assemble product shipping cartons correctly

·         Ability to label product shipping cartons correctly

·         Ability to be able to use weighing scales

·         Ability to be able to clean equipment and test stands

·         Ability to be able to understand and monitor quality control

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move more than 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.   

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
