Job Summary

Ohmstede Industrial Services (OIS) operates as a single source provider for management and execution of process turnarounds, specialty maintenance, and small capital projects. Our success is built on safety, operational excellence, and the ability to execute complex projects under demanding schedules. We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations that support critical turnaround and capital project activities.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the procurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, rentals, and subcontracted services. This role works closely with Operations, Turnaround Management, Project Controls, Finance, and field leadership to support project execution while maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring procurement activities align with project requirements.  The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial construction, maintenance, turnarounds, or project   environments and possess strong organizational, communication, and vendor management skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials, equipment, rental assets, and subcontracted services to support turnaround, maintenance, and capital project activities.
  • Solicit and evaluate supplier quotations, bids, and proposals.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with project teams to identify procurement requirements and support project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with contract administration, supplier onboarding, and vendor qualification processes.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues involving pricing, delivery, quality, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Track procurement activities and maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Support spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Generate procurement reports and assist with supplier performance metrics and purchasing analyses.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or vendor management experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment and materials for specialty services, mechanical and piping services, specialty welding, and turnaround execution within the refining and petrochemical industry.
  • Experience supporting industrial turnarounds, maintenance, construction, or energy operations.
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders and supplier communications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Vista ERP system, procurement software, and Microsoft Office applications.
