Director, PMO (Projects)

The primary role of the Director is to set the strategic direction of the Projects Team, in consultation with the Departmental VP. The Director is responsible for Senior Project Managers who direct, and coordinate activities of assigned projects, or programs, to ensure that client and company goals are accomplished.

• The Director continuously evaluates departmental processes and their use of technology to ensure and improve effectiveness and to ensure that it's universally applied
• Evaluate processes, procedures and technology of the Team with an eye towards continuous improvement
• Develop new processes and provide training to other team members
• Ensure the team is tracking appropriate KPIs and achieving superior results
• Evaluate new project opportunities and distribute tasks according to the skill set of team members
• Manage Project Portfolio's by leveraging data including: Profitability of Projects, Programs and Project Managers
• Evaluate and manage non-billable time by Project Manager
• Evaluate Project Management (as a percent of project cost) costs across the team and compared with other like projects (e.g. type and/or customer)
• Timely project completion (both substantial completion and punch list)
• Pipeline by person and projected capacity/demand by person and team
• Select, orient, and hire new employees
• Coach, provide performance feedback, evaluate and counsel team members
• Ensure assigned project team stays current with safety training
• Monitor, document, and provide safety training to group as required
• Occasionally visit project sites to conduct safety audits
• Review audit results with Project Manager and provide feedback

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in a field requiring critical thinking, leadership and communication skills) from an accredited college or equivalent
• MBA is strongly preferred
• Ten to fifteen years of experience in Construction Management
• Proven success in leading others
• LEED Associate, State General Contacting Licenses, or professional construction affiliations a plus
• PMI Certification required
• Must possess a valid driver's license

• The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
• Perform work on a roof level
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus, determine full range of colors in work areas, drawings and mapping.
• Ability to move about commercial properties and construction sites, through tight passageways and corridors
• On feet as project task requirements dictate
