We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP); building automation; and industrial piping contractor. Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.

Job Summary

DeBra-Kuempel is seeking a Project Manager Co-Op to support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction and service projects. This position provides hands-on exposure to project management processes, including scheduling, project administration, MEP systems, documentation, estimating, procurement, and customer communication. Working closely with project managers and field teams, the co-op will gain practical experience while contributing to project delivery and operational success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, organizing, and coordinating construction and service projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Support project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting notes, and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with tracking project schedules, milestones, budgets, and progress to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
  • Coordinate with field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to support project execution and communication.
  • Help procure materials and equipment by tracking orders, deliveries, and related project requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project operations, safety practices, and customer interactions.
  • Review project records for accuracy and compliance with company standards and contract requirements.
  • Utilize project management software and Microsoft 365 tools to maintain project information and generate reports.
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the position and the organization.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to quickly learn new software and programs as needed.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to quality with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and effective in fast-paced environments with strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships, collaborate effectively, and engage at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Interest in construction, building systems, project delivery, and customer service.
  • Reliable in following established processes and completing assigned responsibilities with a high degree of accountability.
