We are a full-service provider of HVAC construction, service, and maintenance solutions, with expertise in virtually all types of commercial systems. Dallas Mechanical Group, a company within EMCOR Building Services, provides full-service HVAC, controls, and plumbing construction services to commercial and industrial organizations. We offer design, engineering, construction, emergency, and maintenance services to ensure efficient system operation and energy efficiency. DMG is seeking an accomplished President to lead the company’s strategy, operations, financial performance, and continued growth. This person will guide the management team and set the strategic direction of the business, make major operating decisions, and oversee day-to-day performance while modeling a strong commitment to our values. The President will build trusted relationships with employees, customers, and peers, while developing the leadership and technical talent needed for long-term success.

Key responsibilities include the ability to:

• Shape and execute the company’s long-term vision, growth strategy, and market expansion plans.
• Set clear short- and long-term goals for revenue, bidding effectiveness, operational capacity, and overall business performance.
• Lead day-to-day operations and make major operating decisions that support safe, efficient, and profitable performance.
• Grow the business by strengthening internal operations, leveraging industry relationships, and identifying attractive markets and types of work to pursue.
• Review profit and loss statements, manage budgets and cash flow, and approve significant equipment and capital purchases.
• Embed company values in business decisions, leadership practices, and culture.
• Communicate the company’s direction clearly and motivate a diverse workforce across field, technical, and office functions.
• Build, develop, and retain managerial and technical talent, with effective succession and development plans for key positions.
• Grow and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, employees, peers, and corporate leadership.
• Represent Dallas Mechanical Group at internal and external events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Our required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant executive experience.
• At least 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or related contracting industry.
• Demonstrated P&L responsibility for operational revenue exceeding $50 million.
• Proven success growing revenue as a President or executive leader while maintaining a strong commitment to ethics and company values.
• Proven track record of converting proposals and business development into ongoing business relationships.
• Experience effectively building a values-driven culture.
• Strong understanding of mechanical labor, indirect costs, material costs, project economics, cash flow, and budgeting.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other executives and employees in a team environment.
• Confident public-speaking skills for audiences ranging from small leadership groups to large employee or industry events.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to project locations, company operations, and required meetings.

Additionally, our preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with mechanical construction, service and maintenance, and building automation markets.
• Established relationships within the Texas mechanical construction and/or service market.
• Experience leading a business through sustained growth, market expansion, or operational transformation.

This role operates in both traditional office settings and active construction environments. The position may require sitting, speaking, and using a computer for extended periods, as well as walking on rugged or uneven terrain, climbing, kneeling, and bending at project sites. Worksites may include environments that require appropriate personal protective equipment and strict adherence to safety requirements.

 

Regular driving and air travel may be required to visit project locations, company operations, customers, as well as other related operating companies and segment offices.
