Machine Shop Leadman - Night Shift

Ohmstede Ltd. is seeking an individual that under the direction of the Machine Shop Foreman they will assist in the staging of materials/parts and personnel to assure that production is maximized.

 

1. Assigns personnel and material to assure drilled and machined parts meet production requirements.
2. Notifies foreman of consumable and stock material usage.
3. Updates scheduled work assignment list as work progresses.
4. Reviews time cards to assure accuracy.
5. Generates absenteeism slips as necessary.
6. Assists in the skills training of co-workers.
7. Handles personnel situations as necessary to maintain an orderly-working environment.
8. Assures that work is set-up and performed in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
9. Proactively pursues quality assurance in order to reduce lost time and rework.

 

 

Knowledge- Minimum of a Mechanic B classification.

Skills- Good oral and written communication skills, blue print reading.  Read and write English language.

Normal shop environment, noisy, dusty, hot, cold, able to stoop, bend, and short climb, requires 50 lb. lifting ability, exposed to fumes and normal shop hazards.
