Job Summary

The overall purposes of the Project Manager position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide overall management direction for existing projects and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area or type of project
  • Reports to the Chief Operating Officer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Review job estimate and prepare project budgets. Review with COO.
  • Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications
  • Estimate and negotiate change orders
  • Estimate and submit bids
  • Prepare and review submittals
  • Track, forecast, report labor hours, materials and sub-contractor costs
  • Buyout major equipment and subcontracts
  • Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials
  • Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract
  • Maintain and control documents in compliance with ES Fagan standards as well as contractual compliance
  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions through department heads.
  • Supervise superintendents and project foreman on assigned projects
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures
  • Ensure full compliance with ES Fagan safety policy
  • Provide proactive, clear and timely communication to team members
  • Be professional and uphold ES Fagan core values
  • Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives

The Project Manager is granted the authority to exercise the responsibilities and perform duties of this position.

  • Makes decisions and recommendations, which can greatly affect profitability of assigned area. Makes significant independent judgments.  Responsible for careful observance of corporate policies and objectives.
  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook; scheduling, and cost accounting software
