Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking an Designer for our Electrical Division. In this role you will be responsible for design responsibilities for Design/Build construction projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems with AutoCAD and Revit, based on established standards for products, components, and applications
  • Assist Electrical Engineers with electrical design, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)
  • Assist with department representatives, architects, engineers, and consultants to establish project requirements, and specifications
  • Assist with the development and approval of engineering construction drawings
  • Assist with preparation of project documentation
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Construction Technology, or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience working for a contractor on electrical systems design or in the field is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Small amount of travel is expected with this position as required for project design and execution
  • Computer literate with MS Office product offerings including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit and Navisworks is a plus
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both written and oral work
  • All applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
