Installs, trouble shoots, and repairs facility electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting systems, apparatus and devices. Basic skills and knowledge of motor controls, and logic control systems. Qualified candidates should be familiar with low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice and data systems. Position provides quality control using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and EMCOR standard practices.
Installs and connects power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, newly installed machines and building equipment |
Troubleshoot and support production controls and automation components |
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged parts, broken wires, cables and connections |
Knowledge and responsibility to maintain the following electrical distribution equipment: 3 phase 4 wire 277/480 VAC, 3 Phase 4 wire 120/208 VAC, and single phase 3 wire 120/240 VAC |
Replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, relays, contractors, and control button |
Maintenance of building lighting, task lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contactors, emergency lights/exit lights, 120 volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting, and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system |
Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings per the NEC |
Performs preventative maintenance tasking, on 480 volt or less, on all electrical utilities and equipment |
Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities |
Maintain, organize, cleans shop area and or service van, including inventory control, tool maintenance and calibration of testing equipment |

Education (HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.) | Successfully completed Apprenticeship Program. Must be 21 years old or older |
Business Experience (prior years work/related experience) | 4 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Licenses/Certifications | Must possess applicable certifications, licenses and a valid driver's license |
Language Skills | Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. |

The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required. Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work in confined, restricted and hot areas. Work may be located inside or in outside environments. Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
