
EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate need for a Fire Alarm Technician to support the Stanford Health Care Facilities team in Redwood City, CA / Bay Area CA. This role is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire/life safety systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and NFPA standards. The technician will service multiple fire alarm system manufacturers, maintain water-based suppression systems, complete accurate NFPA test reports, interpret technical drawings and manuals, train maintenance staff on system operation, and provide professional support to Stanford Health Care customers

• Performs installation service repairs and testing on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products in accordance with manufacture’s specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards at Stanford Healthcare sites.
• Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers Fire/Life Safety Systems. Inspect, maintain, and test all fire alarm equipment on site, and replaces defective components as needed, test initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter, makes needed repairs, and checks pressure gauges on suppression systems, such as wet pipe, and test electric fire pumps monthly.
• Must be able to give complete and accurate NFPA test form and properly make reports of defective alarm equipment and water-based systems, for corrective maintenance repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Ability to train Maintenance & Operations staff in operation and basic maintenance
of the installed fire alarm systems smoke detectors and duct detectors.
• Assist SHC customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional
manner.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the installation and testing of low voltage systems,
including Fire/Life Safety systems, Preferred Simplex product knowledge and training
and working knowledge of Windows based programs.
• NICET I Certification preferred.
• Must have fundamental knowledge of electricity. (i.e.: Ohm’s law, resistance and AC/DC Circuits.)
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, both conventional and addressable.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer and battery analyzer.
• Knowledge of NFPA Standards and Codes
