Job Summary

Position Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for driving the revenue growth, operational excellence and overall branch performance within a (BAS) building automation controls environment. The role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on operational execution to ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and at a high level of customer satisfaction with service sales and contracts alignment.

The Branch Manager serves as the primary leader and market-facing representative of the branch, driving business development, strengthening customer relationships, and building a high-performing teams aligned with EMCOR values.  This position offers long-term career growth opportunities within a specialized and dynamic industry.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute a branch-level sales strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth and market share.
  • Lead, mentor, and hold accountable the sales team to achieve booking, revenue and margin targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, general contractors, consulting engineers and strategic partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities, including service agreements, retrofits, systems upgrades and long-term maintenance contracts.
  • Drive a culture of proactive selling across projects, service, and account management teams while strengthening existing customer relationships.

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including project execution teams, service delivery teams and workforce/resource planning.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at or above target margins.
  • Establish and enforce standardized operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, safety and scalability.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as backlog, gross margin, labor utilization, and project cycle timelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management and field teams to maintain technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Financial Management

  • Maintain full P&L responsibility for the branch, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
  • Drive profitability through disciplined project management. expense management and operational rigor.
  • Analyze financial performance and take corrective actions to meet or exceed financial goals.
  • Coordinate monthly work-in-progress (WIP) reviews with main office CFO and COO.

 

Team Leadership and Development

  • Partner with Human Resources team to recruit, onboard, develop, and retain high-performing sales, operations, and technical personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and career development opportunities.

Customer Experience & Market Presence

  • Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and repeat business.
  • Serve as a senior representative of the company in the local market and industry events.
  • Lead the resolution of escalated customer issues and complex operational challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC, or Temperature Controls Sales.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing profitable operations.
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems, service agreements, and project delivery models.
  • Strong financial acumen with direct experience managing P&L responsibilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Compensation Range: $170,000 to $190,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. Eligible candidates may also participate in a performance-based incentive or bonus program, in accordance with company plans and policies.
