HVAC Service Technician Apprentice

As a commercial HVAC contractor with the knowledge and experience to also provide commercial boiler repair and chiller services, clients count on us to handle virtually every mechanical challenge.

Scope

EMCOR Services NY/NJ has opportunities for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Service Technician (HVAC) apprentices.   HVAC apprentices are trainees who work under HVAC maintenance workers to gain actual, on-the-job experience. Duties include general light HVAC maintenance tasks, assisting journeyman technicians and maintaining a safe personal working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation and replacement of equipment and parts per manufacturers specifications to honor manufacturers warranties
• Assist in completing HVAC preventive maintenance in accordance with established standards
• Assist in troubleshooting, analyzing and repairing HVAC malfunctions in accordance with EPA established standards
• Follow maintenance schedules to complete accurate and timely equipment maintenance and operating logs
• Complete documentation, including but not limited to, timesheets, expense reports, service reports and purchase card logs

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations
• Basic mathematical abilities in all units of measure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Must have clean driver’s license

Compensation Range: $16.97- 23.15 per hour depending on experience.
