EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Journeyman HVAC Mechanic in Washington, DC for a Temporary Assignment. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99 position. The Journeyman HVAC Mechanic n will provide services to include performing maintenance and repair of equipment at General Services Administration (GSA) Operations. The duration on this temporary assignment is for approximately 3 months

• Installs, services, and repairs environmental control units.
• Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system.
• Executes watch tours in a timely manner.
• Monitoring, maintenance, and repairs of the BMCS systems on the site.
• Troubleshooting of equipment on site.
• Performance of the preventive maintenance of equipment on site.
• Institute the corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job.
• Provide reports and documentation of completed work.
• Monitor subcontractors, as assigned, in their task and provide reports when needed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by his supervisor.
• Journeyman HVAC License required.
• Must possess an active Public Trust, or eligibility to obtain.
• Must possess one or more of the following certifications:
o North American Technician Excellence (N.A.T.E.) HVAC Service Technician Certification
o HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification
o UA Star HVACR Mastery Certification
• Five (5) or more years of experience as HVAC Tech, maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to: Chillers, Pumps, Control Systems, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, VAV's VFD's.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics and specifications.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Building Air Systems.
• Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs)
• Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
• Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, and/or parts.
• Manual dexterity and mobility.
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
