A Site Safety Coordinator must exercise considerable independent
judgment and initiative in identifying current and potential safety hazards and deficiencies and making
recommendations for corrective action. This class receives general supervision from the Safety
Administrator who reviews work through meetings, reports, and the evaluation of overall results
achieved
Safety Coordinators focus on health and safety issues, such as preventing workplace accidents. job duties and responsibilities center around safety goals and often include:
Planning your health and safety program and protocols
Teaching supervisors, managers and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards
Presenting safety training sessions to the company
Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations
Handling risk assessments to gather information on safety issues
Experience leading safety in an industrial setting
Progress toward or achievement of safety credentialing
Wear safety PPE and be on site for many hours of a work day (up to 12 hours)
