Job Summary

Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Site Manager to work at a GE site in Wilmington, NC.  Work to ensure employee safety, quality, and productivity.  Develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals and provide solutions to issues.  Develop objectives and plans to ensure completion of day-to-day and long-term inspections, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of plant equipment.  Have a wide scope of maintenance knowledge.  Supervise and coordinate the activities of Supervisors, Leads and Subcontractors.  Approximately 40% of this position will be spent in an office environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support work to effectively and efficiently maintain, repair, assemble, install or modify structures, machinery and equipment for the site.
  • Focal point for maintenance related issues.
  • Hire, train, supervise, support, review and discipline SIC site employees.
  • Mentor employees to encourage work attendance, performance, safety and quality growth and excellence.
  • Lead SIC by example in areas of EHS, HR, Productivity, Quality, and computerized maintenance management (CMM).
  • Responsible to ensure that planned and unplanned maintenance work is complete on time and according to quality standards.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of critical systems by ensuring compliance with Safety, Environmental and Quality codes, and standards (API, ASME, OSHA, ISO, etc.).
  • Work with the customer to ensure that detailed job plans are created and maintained for preventative, predictive and improvement maintenance activities for plant equipment, facilities and grounds, including cost, time, resources, tools, materials and arts.
  • Support and lead equipment improvement projects to reduce unplanned equipment downtime and to improve equipment metrics as decided upon with the customer.
  • Attend and provide input at customer meetings to plan, coordinate and schedule asset availability for upcoming maintenance activities.
  • Manage data collection and information gathering to effectively provide preventative and predictive maintenance services.
  • Review procurement of required equipment, tools and materials.
  • Detect, recognize and respond appropriately to dangerous conditions and situations.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of maintenance duties.
  • Perform inspections of work areas, TSP’s, tools and equipment to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
  • Interpret company policies to employees and support SIC safety, quality and general work regulations and requirements.
  • Complete all Safety, Supervisor, and general job training as required.
  • Availability 24/7 for emergency site needs
  • Coordination with site facility leadership at GE Nuclear
  • Focal point for production maintenance related issues.
  • Create preventive maintenance instructions for all facilities and production equipment. Utilize OEM manuals, as well as technical expertise and experience of their staff.
  • Provide daily updates to the GE AEROSPACE Facilities Leader and Production personnel as required, to track all maintenance parts stock, downtime, PM completion, Safety work orders, Corrective Action work orders, etc.
  • Provide safety training to employees in accordance with the OSHA Standards for General Industry, OSHA Standards for Construction, and NFPA Standards. Perform weekly safety meetings or toolbox safety related information for all shifts.
  • Uses Maximo to maintain all records from PM updates to work order closure with correct documentation.
  • Coordinate efforts of surge maintenance support onsite.
  • Hire, train, supervise, review and discipline employees in the maintenance department. In some instances, the leader also performs necessary work as required.
  • The site manager is responsible for GE AEROSPACE owned chemical inventory
  • Makes sure all parts and resources (both GE AEROSPACE managed & supplier managed) are available for projects and completion of projects in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • A Four-year degree or Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or high school graduate with 10 years equivalent experience in manufacturing machine troubleshooting and repairs, industrial utilities troubleshooting and repairs, employee supervision, and maintenance planning.
  • Knowledge of the OSHA Standards for General Industry (30-hour) OR the OSHA Standards for Construction (30-hour) with training certificates.
  • Excellent computer software skills to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows. Highly skilled in using ‘Computerized Maintenance Management Systems’ (CMMS) i.e. Maximo.
  • Working knowledge in a number of areas to include, but not limited to: rigging and millwright, hydraulics, compressed air systems, plumbing, machining, welding and fabrication, carpentry, HVAC, electrical and electrical distribution, electronics, PLC’s and CNC’s, building and fire alarm systems, and building management systems.
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years of supervisory experience.
  • 5 – 10 years previous experience working in the heavy industrial field.
  • Strong planning and multitasking skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility and professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)

Work Environment

Conditions include working in office, with occasional entry into shop, busy traffic areas, and warehouses.   Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property.  Must be able to effectively use any required PPE equipment.
