The Field Layout Coordinator is responsible for training, supporting, and coordinating field layout operations across projects, leveraging advanced surveying technology and coordinated digital models. Drawing on hands-on field layout experience, this role ensures project teams are properly trained, supported, and aligned to execute accurate construction layout using robotic total stations, GPS systems, and BIM-driven workflows.
Working closely with field personnel, project management, surveyors, and VDC teams, the Field Layout Coordinator provides guidance on layout best practices, verifies alignment between coordinated BIM models and field conditions, and supports the accurate placement of critical construction elements such as walls, conduits, foundations, sleeves, and inserts. This role supports project schedules, safety, and quality by improving layout readiness, consistency, and execution across projects
• Robotic Total Stations (e.g., Trimble RTS series)
• Layout Tablets (e.g., Trimble FieldLink )
• Laser Levels / Plumb Lasers
• GPS (as applicable)
• Construction Drawings / Layout Sheets
• 2+ years of field layout experience in electrical construction required
• Experience operating robotic total stations and digital layout equipment required
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications a plus)
• Proficient in reading construction drawings and interpreting BIM-generated points required
