The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall Operations portion of the Automation Department, including Operations and Production. The Operations Manager works with the Automation Management Team to work toward the team goals of increasing productivity and lowering costs. The operations manager shall also work toward providing and maintaining the technical support needed to assist with the sales effort.
• Ensure that the production schedule is being maintained with the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a three-week tech schedule in conjunction with project managers.
• Enforce procurement, programming, and commissioning standards and processes.
• Review time sheets for submission to payroll
• Review and audit labor hours vs. budget for all projects.
• Perform customer support in conjunction with account managers.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of processes to increase productivity, including, but not limited to:
o Sales Estimating Procedures
o Engineering Procedures
o Operational Procedures
o Production Procedures
o Safety Procedures
o Training Procedures
• Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure the accuracy of pricing and proposals.
• Work with the Engineering Manager to develop and maintain a file structure for Job information that includes all aspects of the job, such as Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and Close-out.
• Work with the Dispatch Team to ensure that the appropriate personnel are being dispatched on Service issues and Maintenance agreements in a timely manner.
• Work with the Automation Management Team to establish the needs of the department and the methods to satisfy those needs.
• Work with the Automation Management Team to develop job descriptions and responsibilities.
• Work with the Automation Management Team to develop metrics to measure the progress in achieving the goals and objectives for each of the various positions within the Department.
• Work with the Automation Management Team to develop consistent, workable production methods to streamline the production process, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
• Provide any assistance required in any business areas, including sales, engineering, operation, production, and training on an as-needed basis.
• Work closely with all operations, maintaining Mesa culture and making daily decisions to keep work flowing productively and profitably.
• B.S. education in technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the various disciplines of the Automation Business, such as Sales, Engineering, Operation, Production, and Training.
• Must understand Mechanical Systems and the application of controls to the various systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
• Must understand and commit to EMCOR’s safe working practices.

Compensation Range: $150,000 - $170,000 per year
