Job Summary

 

S.A. Comunale is seeking an Intern to support the I/T team. The Desktop Support Technician Intern’s role is to facilitate maintenance of all hardware; install, maintain, and support software loaded on personal computers and Local Area Networks (LAN); perform moves, adds, and changes as necessary. The employee will interact with users daily to facilitate support with any and all aspects of software, hardware, connectivity, etc. The Desktop Support Technician Intern will report directly to the Director of Information Technology, who will determine and direct all priorities for the employee.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Respond to calls, document problems and offer resolutions
  • Update inventory system to ensure it is accurate
  • Assist in organizing and updating documentation for the IT Team
  • Provide operational management to include day-to-day operation, maintenance and problem resolution for all computer systems, equipment and software.
  • Ensure conformance to established Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Work with end users to identify and deliver required service levels.
  • Where required, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users.
  • Recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, support tickets, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or other hardware problems.
  • Schedule and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Maintain patches, hot fixes, and virus updates for PC security.   
  • Support and troubleshoot Androids, iPhones, IPads and Printers. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university, pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or other similar degree – junior level status or higher at the time of the internship is required.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proven skills in Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft standard software (Office / Teams / Etc) is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must as well as the ability to work well independently
