Internship Opportunity: Mechanical Engineer Intern

Location: On-site
Schedule: Part-time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Travel: Occasional job site visits

 

About the Role

Are you ready to kickstart your engineering career with hands-on experience in the mechanical industry? Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Engineer Intern, where you'll work directly with project managers and collaborate across departments to gain real-world exposure to building engineering systems, construction project management, and the financial and communication aspects that drive successful projects.

This internship is designed to immerse you in the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects—from design to execution—while empowering you to contribute meaningfully to day-to-day operations.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Perform heat loss/gain load calculations and interpret results
  • Select and schedule HVAC equipment
  • Size and layout hydronic piping and HVAC ductwork
  • Collaborate with the estimating team on bid opportunities
  • Assist project managers with vendor solicitations, equipment submittals, and site visits
  • Engage with field personnel to understand installation processes
  • Work with the team to solve engineering challenges
  • Present findings clearly and concisely
  • Research, compile, and analyze complex data to form sound conclusions

 

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in engineering, design, project management, or related field
  • Basic understanding of heat transfer, thermal envelopes, airflow, and water flow calculations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and take initiative
  • Team player who learns quickly and applies knowledge effectively
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
