EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a Fleet Mechanic / Maintenance Technician in Middle River, MD. The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR Site Lead and support him/her to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment, well-kept grounds and a dependable fleet. Safety is a primary concern and the highest priority with all work activities.
Primary responsibilities of this position are to provide vehicle maintenance of fleet equipment/vehicles. This includes the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of (100+) electric work carts and forklifts. Must have the experience and ability to diagnose and correct deficiencies with all assigned fleet equipment.
Additional skills in basic electric, carpentry, plumbing and painting to support the trades and complete various general maintenance type tasks. Computer aptitude is necessary to update files in the CMMS, complete work orders, order parts and materials online.
Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 5 to 7 years of hands on experience in vehicle and facilities maintenance dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

General maintenance skills to include basic electric, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and plumbing. Ability to assist in repairs of general items as needed. Performs a wide variety of corrective and general type maintenance work request. Assist other skilled technicians when needed to complete PM’s or project work. |
Grounds Maintenance. Ability to shovel snow, spread salt and make safe entryways and sidewalks. Able and willing to support the maintenance of the client grounds. Duties may include the following: Mowing, leaf control, edging, weeding lawns and landscape beds as necessary. |
Daily repair and preventive maintenance of all (100+) electric golf carts, vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts and small engine equipment such as push/riding mowers and generators. |
Education (HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.) | HS Diploma Trade School and/or Union Apprenticeship a plus |
Business Experience (prior years’ work / related experience) | 5-7 years of experience with fleet mechanical/engine repair. Knowledge and experience with facility maintenance. |
Licenses/Certifications | Valid US driver’s license. Must be a U.S. citizen. |
Language Skills | Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers and associates of organization. |
Technical Qualifications & Skills | Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use is a must. |
Must proficient in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electric work carts, forklifts, small engine repair and standard motor vehicles. Prior schooling, training, and/or experience required. |
Responsible for providing support as directed in various other trades as necessary such as basic electric, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and grounds upkeep. |
Organization skills to maintain the electronic computerized client facility maintenance records and reports. |
Must have the ability and willing to operate lawn equipment to cut & trim lawn areas as well as operate snow removal equipment when required. |
Excellent customer service and communication skills. |
The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required. Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift. Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis. Have the ability to work and maneuver on a variety of terrains. Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work in confined, restricted and hot areas. Must be willing to work overtime when required and may be required to work holidays and/or weekends at times. We are responsible for snow removal and there are times in the Winter season when most of the day is spent outdoors in cold/snow conditions. We are also responsible for landscaping and there are times in the Summer season when most of the day is spent outdoors in hot/sunny conditions.
Compensation Range: $30/hr - $36/hr
Other Compensation: this position is not bonus or commission eligible
