Job Title: Onsite HVAC Technician V O&M 

 

 

Summary:

Services and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting.  Will work with centrifugal / reciprocating and screw chillers, CRAC units, cooling towers, varied air distribution systems, pumps and both package and split DX equipment.

Location:This role is on-site with a client in Atlanta, GA (Brookhaven)

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

Services and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting.  Will work with centrifugal / reciprocating and screw chillers, CRAC units, cooling towers, varied air distribution systems, pumps and both package and split DX equipment.

• Set up and operate PM system/program, review equipment/system operations, develop programs, techniques and procedures for the efficient and profitable operation of the buildings.
• Provides status reports to customers, discussing major activities, energy consumption, water treatment, work orders and preventative maintenance.
• Evaluates and makes recommendations on the vendor proposals and specifications for the customer and coordinates purchasing materials according to customers purchasing procedures.
• This position may be directed to perform other non – HVAC duties as needed and directed by the Client’s Facility Manager.
• Must have experience in Pneumatic and DDCHVAC Controls.
• Must have experience with (VFD) Variable speed drives.

 

Qualifications:    

• Six or more years of commercial / industrial HVAC experience as described in job overview.
• Experience with Pneumatic/DDC controls
• At least seven years’ direct experience HVAC experience in operations, maintenance, and repair of AC equipment
•  Must have a Universal CFC License
•  Must have skill and technical ability to interpret to complete installations and repairs as required to minimize down-time
• Must have working knowledge of other trades such as: Sheet metal, fire dampers, zone control, airflow volume, plumbing systems, steam supply, electrical circuits, solenoids, transformers, timers, etc.
• Must be proficient in all types of soldering and brazing techniques.
• Must be well versed in various test equipment.
• Must be able to read and work with blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.
• Ability to effectively perform work in accordance with governmental and other regulatory agencies including EPA, OSHA, etc.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing
• Knowledge of Critical equipment a plus
• Must possess good communication, interpersonal, and organization skills to ensure effective teamwork and customer relations.
• General PC skills/computer knowledge

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must possess basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  Ability to perform basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complex written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
