Job Summary

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for coordinating a team of Buyers who source, negotiate and manage facility maintenance service contracts and subcontractors nationwide. This position will report to the Category Manager and will work in collaboration with Account Managers and Operations as part of project management teams. Other responsibilities include managing high profile facility maintenance accounts, overseeing sourcing events, delegating tasks, processes adherence, ensuring deadlines and budget goals are achieved, negotiating and reviewing contracts, implementing operational efficiencies and improving the company’s overall profitability

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, follow up and communication for all sourcing projects and initiatives. Delegate tasks to buyers and follow up to ensure deadlines and budgets are achieved
  • Manage large accounts, negotiating contracts and rates with subcontractors. Build relationships and conduct quarterly business reviews. Develop a network of preferred service providers
  • Manage, execute and communicate standardized processes and procedures to the team and the company. Work with manager to identify and implement process efficiencies
  • Assist in employee development focusing on both training for their current job and developing skills for future roles and responsibilities
  • Participate in sourcing activities when required to ensure deadlines and goals are achieved

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of facility management experience preferred

  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Physical Demands

  • General office. Must be able to operate a computer and telephone and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Mostly sedentary position

  • General office environment. Constantly operates a computer and telephone and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Travel less than 10% of time
