Job Summary

DeBra-Kuempel is seeking to fill an Information Technology (IT) Specialist position in our Cincinnati, Ohio location.  The IT Support Specialist provides day-to-day support as needed to local and remote satellite officesThe successful candidate for this role is an individual who demonstrates a high level of service, commitment, and execution. The following are required characteristics, knowledge, skills, and abilities:   

  • Possess exceptional customer service skills, patience, well organized, and a good communicator. 
  • Expertise in computer software, hardware maintenance, and technical support. 
  • Experience with repairing, diagnosing, and upgrading PC hardware and basic network troubleshooting. 
  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to read and interpret communication styles of diverse team members who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines. 
  • Possess an exceptional ability to follow up on assigned projects and Help Desk tickets 

 

The IT Support Specialist will operate independently and exercise advanced discretion and judgement with both macro and micro level responsibilities. This is a hands-on role that includes; oversite, investigation and resolution of end user support needs, customer service, infrastructure management including security and network administration.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Key areas of duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to these day-to-day IT operations: 

 

  • Provide level 3 IT support by accessing highest level of technical resources 
  • Implement and manage network security as established by EMCOR policy. 
  • Computer, software, printer, & mobile device inventory, setup, and maintenance 
  • Antivirus and patch management and monitoring for computer operating systems. 
  • Provide basic Active Directory Users & Computers Support 
  • Provide end user help desk support. 
  • Provide relevant education and training and create documentation for non-technical users. 
  • Work remotely and onsite to perform IT projects and upgrades. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager of IT 
  • Attend regular conference calls with EMCOR IT & Security 
  • Ensure compliance with EMCOR IT SOPs 
  • Asset Management 
  • Coordinate investigations to resolve information system issues 
  • Conducts research to understand, explain and resolve technology issues 
  • Communicates updates to users that have been or may be affected by a problem 
  • Follows up with users after problems have been resolved 
  • Initiates onboarding procedures for new users into the system 
  • Ensures response times are quick and effective to appropriately resolve requests 
  • Coordinates referrals to technical, professional or service personnel depending on the repair, training, service or software issue 

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS 

To best meet the needs of our organization and customers, the right person will meet the following specifications: 

  • Associate degree in computer science, business, telecommunications or related field OR equivalent experience and training.  
  • Eight (8) plus years of progressive IT experience, including hands on experience with: 
  • Microsoft technology such as Windows desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policy, O365 
  • Security tools such as EDR, Endpoint Protection, BitLocker, etc.   
  • Endpoint configuration and vulnerability management tools such as Intune, SCCM, Autopilot, Tanium, etc. 
  • Working knowledge of large desktop/laptop deployments including design, engineering and support of the desktop, desktop applications, desktop images, encryption, endpoint security and the associated systems of application delivery and group policies. 
  •  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems Support 
  • Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 Operating System Support 
  • Microsoft Office 365 
  • Microsoft InTune 
  • Microsoft Azure 
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy 
  • DNS/DHCP 
  • TCP/IP 
  • iPhone, iPad, and Android Support 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

  • CompTIA A+ Certification 
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Certification 
  • Vortex or similar endpoint security technology 
  • Microsoft SCCM or similar configuration technology 
  • Cisco Meraki network technology
