Job Title: HVAC Technician I
Maintains, repairs, installs, inspects, and adjusts commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Supervises and directs the activities of other workers associated with HVAC system operation, repair, installation, etc. Also estimates, lays out, and schedules jobs. EPA608 Universally Certified. Knowledge of all HVAC System including controls both pneumatic and DDC. Must demonstrate the ability to work with little to no supervision.
Education:
High School Diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.
Experience:
Graduate of a certified technical school with 10+ years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver’s license required. Must hold Universal Recovery Certification and Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification (Type I, II, III, and Universal). Fork truck and aerial lift equipment certification also required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively before groups of customers or associates.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear frequently. Occasionally required to sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical risk, and varying weather conditions. Safety gear required: steel toe shoes, hearing and eye protection, hardhat, and gloves. Must follow OSHA and company safety guidelines. Daily driving of company vehicle required. Work hours are based on business volume and contract schedules. Must be able to handle stressful situations professionally.
