Job Summary

Job Title: Systems Engineer I 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Competent at operating control software applications.
  • Develop simple databases based on a written sequence of operation.
    • VAV’s, FCU’s, and AHU’s
  • Read and identify mechanical equipment on floor plans.
  • Commission projects with assistance from senior-level engineers
  • Fill out commissioning documentation.
  • Identify mechanical equipment for drawings and in the field.
    • Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, AHU’s, FCU’s, VAV’s, and EF’s
  • Identify equipment deficiencies.
  • Understand simple electrical control circuits.
    • Controller I/O and 24VAC power
  • Understand simple networking principles.
  • Coordinate work with Mesa electricians
  • Understand and identify the contractual scope of work.

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
  • 4 + years of relevant experience, with at least two years as an automation technician.
  • Working knowledge of at least one HVAC controls systems (preferably Delta, JCI or Andover).
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interface with customers and contractors at a supervisory and management level.
  • Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and computer programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, understanding of controls networking.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range:  $36.00 - $48.00 per hour
